InBiz recognise that many offenders/ex offenders feel that the barriers they face are too great and that they are unable to return to the workplace and have a sustainable career/future.

The Inside Out programme, available to all offenders and ex-offenders in the North East area, concentrated upon identifying and removing the most stubborn barriers by showing that enterprise can provide a realistic and practical option that offers flexibility and a route back into economic activity.

The programme involved a number of different sessions:

Routes 2 Change Pre Awareness
2 x 2 hour group sessions that covered the following:
  • Dealing with change
  • Skills and Qualities
  • Confidence Building
  • Start up business vision
  • One to One personal needs analysis
Routes 2 Enterprise Awareness
2 hour group session that covered the following:
  • Bite size information on business, who what, and why
  • One to One personal needs analysis
Routes 2 Success
This part of the programme provided links into mainstream provision which included:
  • Business Link start up
  • Jobcentre Plus
  • Education
  • Training
