Chamberlink Business Support Startup

InBiz provided support to white males living in the Wigan area who were interested in starting a business. The programme operated around two themes: Awareness & Diagnostics and Preparation & Planning. InBiz delivered this as an outreach service in Wigan, for local people within the community.

Programme elements:

Awareness & Diagnostics
Delivered in small groups or on a one-to-one basis at a local venue by a trained InBiz business consultant, the groups learnt about the benefits or pitfalls of becoming self employed. The business consultant then delivered a confidential diagnostic assessment of the business requirements.

Preparation and Planning
InBiz offered business skills training for those people who were interested in exploring self-employment further. Specialist support and training was delivered and tailored to the individual that included the development of business plans or more specific elements of self-employment such as tax, marketing, health and safety, insurance and book keeping. This, coupled with the dedicated support of an outreach worker, ensured that any enterprise in the area received the best start or advice on how to grow.
