Is It Right For You?
For those with a business idea but at the very earliest stages of thinking of setting up on your own, there's an introductory workshop exploring the pros and cons of self-employment and the issues that you may need to consider. This three hour workshop involves a mix of tutor-led sessions and practical activities. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions are available during week days in addition to weekend day time options. You may then feel ready to move onto a more detailed workshop. If not, telephone support is available to help clarify outstanding issues.
Further Workshops
If you have a more developed idea, there are three further workshops on offer. They cover the main disciplines of running a business: planning, regulations, sales, marketing, finance and accounts. All workshops culminate in individual action plans detailing the remaining steps to be taken before launching the business. Follow-up support from a qualified Business Link Adviser is also available
