Supporting Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010

Starting a business can be the ideal solution to unemployment for many. It gives people the opportunity to do something they love, turn their hobby into a living and work flexible hours around any personal commitments they may have. Too many people have good business ideas that are wasted due to lack of confidence, lack of funds or simply a lack of business knowledge.

There's lots of support available to help people start their own business, which is why we'll be celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week with a number of events being held across the country. This annual international event is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the work of entrepreneurs and raise the profile of entrepreneurship.

Here's a rundown of how we'll be celebrating the 2010 Global Entrepreneurship Week:

North West
Date: Friday, 19th November
Location: Everton Football Club
Time: 12noon – 2pm
This networking lunch event will provide partners and decision makers the opportunity to observe a showcase of past and present InBiz customers who have successfully launched their own business. There will be demonstrations on the day from a range of business owners, including jewellery, cupcakes and a fitness consultant.

North East
Date: Friday, 19th November
Location: Newcastle office, Westgate Road
Time: 9.30am – 12.45 OR 1.45 – 5pm
This day-long event will include presentations running throughout the day, focusing on subjects such as New Deal Self Employment, Pre Start Business Link Workshops and Enterprise Coaching. It is open to local organisations to find out more about the support we can offer to help people move from unemployment to self-employment and will include a buffet with food from around the world to reflect the International Day theme.

London
Date: Wednesday, 17th November
Location: Unit 1B, Ground Floor - Berol House, 25 Ashley Road, Tottenham
This event is to focus on Marketing for business and will involve existing clients including general business start up related topics ie. Small business bank services, past Inbiz clients ( who will provide feedback on how they have marketed their businesses) and the benefits of Networking and Marketing from North London Chamber. In addition there will be a presentation from a Website Planning Company on how to be successful online.

The day will also consist of smaller ‘spin-off' surgeries from InBiz Business Advisers. The objective is to celebrate with clients as well as showing them and delivery partners the support we provide.

South East
Date: Wednesday, 17th November
Location: North Office, Unit 2, Harbourgate Business Park, Southampton Road, Portsmouth
Time: 9am – 1pm
This event will celebrating women in business, including a short presentation from Janette Faherty OBE, former CEO of Avanta Enterprise Ltd, who will be sharing the value of networking and providing some useful pointers. This will be followed by various organisations providing useful tips to the women in business at the speed networking event.
