Dimples gets a Business Adviser

Having been made redundant from the factory where she worked, Vicky, 55, saw self-employment as a route to job satisfaction. Having always had a love for listening to, and telling, children's stories, Vicky saw a real career opportunity in selling her stories.

Vicky approached InBiz where she was assigned her own Business Adviser. She was offered support and guidance which was particularly valuable to her as she was working in an environment and towards goal that was alien to her.

Vicky has already had her first book published: 'Dimples the Bear', which is aimed at children between four and eight years old and tells the secret life of Dimples the Bear and his friends. It has proved to be a huge success and to accompany the book, Vicky's sister has made a bear to go on sale as well.

According to Vicky, the best thing about her new venture is "to see the delight on children’s faces when reading my stories and knowing that I still have lots to tell".

Vicky hopes to pursue finding a publisher to enable her to carry on writing and selling her stories.
