Dressed to Impress

After getting help from InBiz, Maggie Huntley-Young from Hartlepool, has been able to start her own business providing a lingerie line for women who have undergone mastectomies.

Maggie began to think about her business idea having had a double mastectomy at the age of 36, ten years after she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Following the operation, she found that while there was lingerie available for her to wear, it tended to be practical rather than sexy. Maggie was working voluntarily as a breast cancer carer, offering emotional support to those suffering from breast cancer, and soon discovered other women felt the same.

She resolved to start her own exclusive lingerie line and took her idea to InBiz. InBiz provided her with her own Business Advisor, who helped her develop her business plan and gave her the guidance and support she needed to start her own business.

Maggie's business is now going from strength to strength. She is already looking to widen her range to include nightwear, and is planning to open a shop to sell her products direct.

Maggie says,

"I am very thankful for the support InBiz gave me. They helped me to take my idea on to become a prosperous business, and now I’m looking to go on to market other products to improve the life of breast cancer sufferers. These women are beautiful, and there's no reason why they shouldn’t dress to impress."

Maggie attended the InBiz offices in Darlington.
